Paige is 5
On Sunday May 10th, Paige turned 5. I can't believe it. This means she'll be heading to kindergarten this year, which of course she is thrilled about. At first I felt so bad for her that her birthday was on Sunday and on Mothers' Day no less. But after it is all said and done I think she actually got a great deal out of it. She got to celebrate on Saturday, on Sunday and then at school on Monday. And then her party is this Saturday. I don't know, what do you think? A week long birthday. Not a bad deal, I think. I guess Sunday is the day to have a birthday. Anyways, on Saturday we took Paige to Build-A-Bear to pick out a bear. That's all she's been talking about, is wanting to make a bear. Then after that we let the girls play in the sprinkler area at the mall. Yes, we have sprinkler parks at the mall. That's what they have to do here to get people to go to an outdoor mall in the summertime. Then we headed to In-N-Out for some burgers for lunch. We had such a good time spending the afternoon together as a family. Then on Sunday Paige helped me make a cake for her, she was sung to at church (which I think was the highlight of her day). She's been practicing it for the last few weeks. I guess you have to practice being sung to. Just kidding! It was cute though, she was gleaming ear to ear. Then when we got home and had dinner and watched the movie Hotel for Dogs while enjoying some cake and ice cream. I think all in all she had a great birthday. I can't believe you are 5, Paige. You have come so far in the last 5 years. You didn't talk until you were 3 years old. Now we can't get you to stop talking. It is kind of our ongoing joke. We've asked you if you talk just to hear yourself and you said yes. You must enjoying hearing yourself. You are such a sweet little girl. You make me laugh every single day with things you say or do. You always have something to say about everything. You are always making sure no one is left out. And you are always trying to make everyone happy. You don't like to see anyone sad. You are so very special. I couldn't imagine my life without you. You are a joy to have in our home. I love you so much. I hope you had a great birthday!
