Weekend fun with Grandma Spriet

This weekend Rich's mom came to town to visit. We sure had a lot of fun with her. Despite the girls all having colds they still managed to give grandma a run for her money. On Friday while Abby was at school we took Paige and Maren to the park to play and have a picnic. That's one of the benefits of living in Arizona. Sheryl picked the perfect weekend to come and visit. It was beautiful. The weather was upper 70's and even got to 80 one day. Don't get too jealous, it just means that our 100 degree weather is around the corner. They had so much fun, especially on the swings. They didn't want to let the other kids have a turn. Saturday was filled with alot. We first took Sheryl to IKEA, since she'd never been there before. The kids had a great time playing in the play area while we shopped. I wish more places would offer that. After Ikea we had promised the kids we'd take them bowling. So we went to the bowling alley and they told us it'd be 1 1/2 -2 hours before we could get a lane. There was no talking the girls out of bowling so we went to the pottery store nearby and let them paint until it was time for bowling. Just as we finished they called us and it was time to bowl. Thank goodness. I wasn't sure we could pass the time much longer. So off to the bowling alley. The girls had fun bowling and dancing to the music. It was cosmic bowling so it was in the dark with strobe lights and other flashing lights. It was a lot of fun. Most people can't stand to wear the shoes, well we couldn't get Maren to take her's off. She wanted to take them home with her. The girls definetely enjoyed having Grandma in town and were very sad to see her go. Last night Paige was very disappointed that she couldn't get a goodnight kiss from her. And this morning she woke up asking where Grandma was. When I told her she wasn't here she was in tears. I told her we could call her later and that seemed to help at least for now. We love having Grandparents here. Since the girls don't get to see them much they eat up every minute they are here. Thanks Sheryl for such a fun weekend. We really enjoyed having you here. Can't wait until you come again.
