Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas. The girlies actually slept in a little bit. So we didn't get up until about 7:30 it was nice. The girls opened their presents from Santa and from all their grandparents. They had so much fun doing this as you could imagine. Paige would keep coming up to me and saying "Thank You, Mommy, I love you." Hopefully she'll always remember how lucky she is to be able to have Christmas. I was in charge this year of our ward's "Giving Tree", this is for families in our ward who were in need. I tried really hard to let my kids know how lucky they are that they were able to have a Christmas, and that not everyone is as lucky as they are. I think they got it. At least just a little. I was so impressed with our ward though and their willingness to want to help these families. It was a neat experience to be apart of. Anyways our Christmas day was really just a relaxing day. We made some brownies with Paige's Princess Ice Bake Oven. You heard correctly, you use ice cubes to bake. Paige had a great time. We weren't able to try Abby's Easy Bake Oven due to not having the correct light bulbs. Come to find out you can only get the light bulbs at Lowe's, and they're going to discontinue them soon. Needless to say we went and bought 6 of them. Hopefully that'll last long enough to get all our easy baking needs. Abby enjoyed playing her Nintendo DS while Maren really enjoyed playing with her "3" new baby dolls and the nursery center Santa brought her. Later through out the day the kids played with their new Polly Pockets and Barbies. They played so well together it really made for an enjoyable day. It was nice to just hang out as a family. I wish everyday could be as great as this day was. No fighting or screaming, just everyone getting along and having fun together. We also got to talk to all of our parents. The kids had a lot of fun telling everyone what they got. It was fun to hear their excitement. This was I think the first year since we've lived in Arizona that we haven't had somebody here for Christmas. That was kind of sad. But we did have a good day anyways. Maybe next year we'll have some visitors. Hint, Hint!
