Best Buy online sure has lost a customer in us.
On Friday, September 19th Rich ordered a CD/DVD concert which was exclusive to Best Buy. It is David Gilmour's "Live in GdaĆsk". About 5 hours after placing the order, we received an e-mail which said:
Shipping Confirmation
September 19, 2008
Order Number: BBY01-xxxxxxxxxxxx
Dear Richard:
The items listed below are now packed and ready to leave our warehouse. Your credit card (or Gift Card) has been charged for the items. If you used a Reward Certificate, it has been applied to your purchase.
Status: Shipped on 09/19/2008 via USPS - .
Tracking info: 020826000112xxxxxxxx
After about a week of not seeing any tracking info on USPS.com, Rich contacted Best Buy and got some song and dance about how the item shipped 9/19 and that they are not responsible for transit times once the product has left their warehouse. On Thursday, September 25th, the first tracking activity appears on USPS.com:
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on September 25, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date.
9/19 sure seems a far cry from 9/25. Good thing Rich is a patient person and that shipping was free. Still, perhaps we'll be taking our business elsewhere in the future.
